It makes sense to us that the perfect position for an American hero to transition into after serving in the military, would be one in the public service sector. Interested and physically capable Vets would go through specialized training to become qualified for positions like firefighters, policemen, first responders, paramedics, and security guards.
With 6 months to 2 years of training, our residents could receive the necessary training and qualifications for a number of specialized trades that are always in demand, like electricians, plumbers, welders, mechanics, construction workers, and heavy machinery technicians, etc.
Bus, Truck, and Taxi drivers have the potential to earn a great income by doing something that many people love to do. If our tenants enjoy driving and traveling, then this may be the field for them.
A series of classes will be offered on site, on the topics of basic skills needed to find and maintain employment, like resume writing, time management, personal presentation, and interviewing.
By offering access to online courses and enrollment in other job-training classes and local colleges, our residents can obtain the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to qualify them for a wide range of jobs and careers.
Our hope is to seek out the most promising homeless Veteran candidates and offer them the resources they need to get back on their feet and into an honorable and respected lifestyle that they can be proud of. Candidates will be aptitude tested and matched to "in demand" occupations, so there will be a job waiting for them when they have finished their training.
